Four Armenians qualify for Chess World Cup

PanARMENIAN.Net - Gabriel Sargsyan, Robert Hovhannisyan, Shant Sargsyan, and Hayk Martirosyan secured spots at the FIDE World Cup after notable results in the European Individual Chess Championship.

Gabriel Sargsyan scored 8 points out of a possible 11, placing 7th overall. Robert Hovhannisyan, Shant Sargsyan, and Hayk Martirosyan each earned 7.5 points, finishing 17th, 18th, and 21st respectively, according to Pastinfo.

German grandmaster Matthias Bluebaum won the championship with 8.5 points. He became the first male chess player in history to win the European title twice.
