OSCE chair delays Baku visit, reasons unknown

PanARMENIAN.Net - OSCE Chairperson-in-Office and Finland’s Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen has postponed her visit to Azerbaijan, according to Report.az , citing anonymous sources.

Valtonen’s South Caucasus tour was originally scheduled for October 13–15. She visited Armenia on October 14 and is expected to travel to Georgia the following day.

The report notes that no reason has been provided for the delay of her planned stop in Azerbaijan.

While in Armenia, Valtonen stated that the OSCE welcomed the joint Armenian-Azerbaijani request to dismantle the OSCE Minsk Group. She also confirmed that the group’s remaining structures will be closed no later than December 1.
