Akopova-Rakhmanin place eighth after short program

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia’s representatives have begun their performances at the World Figure Skating Championships in Prague.

The pair Karina Akopova and Nikita Rakhmanin competed in the short program, earning 67.12 points with a solid performance.

Among 21 pairs, they ranked eighth, securing qualification for the free skate, which will take place on March 26.

They performed their short program to “Artsakh,” a composition by Ara Gevorgyan.

Armenia is also represented at the championships by Semyon Danilyants. The 19-year-old athlete will compete in the men’s short program on March 26, with the free skate scheduled for March 28, the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports reported.

The World Figure Skating Championships are being held from March 24 to 29.

At the Winter Olympic qualification event held in Italy in February, Karina Akopova and Nikita Rakhmanin scored 66.27 points, finishing in 14th place.
