Alexandra Grigoryan secures second European silver

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia’s women’s weightlifting team member Alexandra Grigoryan has become the European Championships silver medalist for the second time in her career.

Competing in the 58 kg weight category at the senior European Championships in Batumi, Grigoryan lifted 88 kg and 91 kg in the snatch. In the clean and jerk, the Armenian athlete lifted 115 kg and 119 kg, finishing third in that discipline, Armenpress reported.

With a combined total of 210 kg, Grigoryan secured the silver medal at the European Championships, repeating her result from last year.

The gold medal was won by Ukraine’s Kamila Konopova with a total of 221 kg.

Earlier, Garnik Cholakyan from the Armenian team had also become a European Championships silver medalist.
