Armenia needs 10 scientists and $2 millionJune 29, 2009 - 20:52 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Innovation economy is the only way out of the global crisis. This was the main conclusion of the international scientific conference "Innovative way of development of the Commonwealth countries: strategies and prospects," press service of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia reports. The conference kicked off on June 29 in Armenia. Among organizers National Academy of Sciences of Armenia, Yerevan University of Architecture and Construction, "Academy of Innovatics" Globeliks-R (Russia), Saratov State Technical University. "Our task is to determine the conditions for the development of innovative economy in Armenia and other CIS countries. New conditions require new approaches, and this can be achieved yhrough successful cooperation", the President of RA NAS Radik Martirosyan in a welcome speech. "Armenia needs 10 scientists and two million dollars to become in five years a prosperous country." Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Sergei Glazyev gave a anti-crisis recipe for Armenia in his paper "Strategy of anti-crisis policy in the CIS in the transition to a new technological life." As one of the most promising areas to develop, he pointed the nuclear industry on the basis of the Armenia's Nuclear Power Plant. He mentioned, that the plant is used only to produce electricity at the moment. According to Mr. Glazyev, gene engineering can be also developed and justifies the investments made. Another promising area is funding of university science, with a view to attract young professionals. A separate plenary session was developed to innovative principles of higher education and science. The aggrement was reached to organize a new conference on innovation economy open to all CIS countries.
