Avetik Grigoryan – sole leader of Armenia’s chess championship

Tigran Petrosyan Chess House hosted Wednesday the 6th round of male chess championship. Sole tournament leader after this round is Avetik Grigoryan who had no defeat; Tigran Petrosyan and Zaven Andriasyan (each having 4 points) take the 2nd and 3rd place respectively. Artashes Minasyan who took the 3rd place after the 5th round was beaten by Hrant Melkumyan.



The results after the 6 rounds are as follows:



Andriasian Zaven - Petrosian Davit G 1 - 0

Kotanjian Tigran - Kalashian David 1 - 0

Petrosian Tigran L - Chibukhchian Artur ½ - ½

Grigoryan Avetik - Hovhannisyan Robert 1 - 0

Minasian Artashes - Melkumyan Hrant 0 - 1



The chess players taking the first 5 places in the tournament will qualify for European Championship, and those taking the 6th-9th places will take part in Aeroflot Open 2010 competitions.
