Sergei Movsisian breaks through to World Rapid Cup ¼ finals

PanARMENIAN.Net - GM Sergei Movsisian (Slovakia) is participating in the Fourth ACP World Rapid Cup which is taking place May 27-29, 2010 in Odessa, Ukraine.

Defeating Germany’s Arkadij Naiditsch in the first round, Movsisian broke through to ¼ finals, where he will play vs. Alexander Gruschuk (Russia).

Alexei Shirov, Pavel Eljanov, Dmitry Jakovenko (Russia), Sergey Karjakin (Ukraine), Mikhail Gurevich (Belgium) and Vugar Gashimov also won their 1st round games.

Meanwhile, Armenia’s Tigran Kotanjian finished second at Tbilisi Open Tournament.

France’s representative Tigran Garamian won an international tournament in Limburg, the Netherlands. Armenia’s Mher Hovhannisyan finished 7th.
