U.S. Ambassador to Armenia sees nothing strange in OSCE MG’s usage of Azeri name for Stepenakert?

PanARMENIAN.Net - Wide range of issues was discussed with representatives of Philadelphia, Detroit, Los Angeles and San Francisco Armenian communities, U.S. Ambassador to Armenia Marie Yovanovitch stated.

“Discussions focused on Armenia-Turkey relations, Armenia’s security, democracy, investments into Armenian economy, with U.S. position on the issues presented,” Ms. Yovanovitch said.

Commenting on the recent statement of OSCE MG co-chairs, indicating Azeri name “Hankendi” as NKR capital, Ms. Yovanovitch noted, “there’s no change introduced, the mediators used this name before.”

Dwelling on the blocking of the candidature of former OSCE MG co-chair Mattew Bryza for the position of U.S. Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Ms. Yovanovitch stated, “Matthew Bryza enjoys the full trust of the President and State Secretary. We hope his candidature will be approved. However, the decision is up to U.S. Senate,” Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty cited her as saying.
