Armenia, Italy to expand interparliamentary cooperation

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Ambassador to Italy Ruben Karapetyan met with Massimo D'Alema, the president of COPASIR (Parliamentary Committee for the Intelligence and Security Services and for State Secret Control) and Italian Senate's deputy chairman Vanino Kiti.

The parties discussed a number of issues on Armenia-Italy relations, Italy’s foreign policy in South Caucasus, as well as cooperation in the framework of European structures.

Karabakh conflict settlement, Armenia-Turkey ties were also discussed.

In conclusion, the parties emphasized the importance of activating interparliamentary cooperation, expanding of Armenia-Italy parliamentary friendship group, increasing Italian legislative authorities’ awareness of Armenia and NKR, Armenian Foreign Ministry press service reported.
