Azeris appropriate Armenian family names in attempt to prove their ancient originFebruary 18, 2011 - 20:02 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - A strange “discovery” made at Folklore Institute of Azerbaijan’s National Academy of Science, alleged over 400 modern Armenian family names to be of “Azerbaijani origin”. The results of the “studies” were published in the book entitled Armenian Family Names of Turkic Origin, which, as Azeri media claims, “sheds light on genetic origin of Armenians and the influence of Azerbaijani-Turkic cultural environment on the language, consciousness and culture of the ethnos.” Thus, the Azeris, who’ve made a tradition of appropriating Armenian music, cuisine, cultural and historic heritage, chose to go as far as appropriating Armenian family names. It’s a universal knowledge that Azerbaijanis is an artificially created nationality to which Josef Stalin gave a name in 1936. In their attempt to justify their existence and prove their ancient origin, the Azeris are making every effort to appropriate historic and cultural heritage of Armenians, Lezgins, Georgians, Avarians, Udins, left on the territory of modern Azerbaijan. Azerbaijani scientists and politicians became so good at appropriating other peoples’ heritage as to even believe their own lies. It’s only a matter of time till next nation’s historic heritage is appropriated by Azerbaijan.
