Baku undecided about Allahshukur Pashazadeh’s visit to Yerevan

PanARMENIAN.Net - A meeting between the Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II and Sheikh-al-Islam, Grand Mufti of the Caucasus Allahshukur Pashazadeh may take place in November 2011.

"No invitation has been addressed to Sheikh-al-Islam to attend the meeting either from the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill II, or the state, which will host this meeting," Caucasus Muslim Office International Relations Department head Mugaddes Payizov told Trend.

On November 28-30, Etchmiadzin will host a sitting of the CIS Interreligious Council, co-chaired by Pashazadeh.

The Grand Mufti, Catholicos of All Armenians and Kirill II met during the World Summit of World Religious Leaders in Baku in April 2010. The meeting participants signed a declaration on Karabakh conflict, stipulating that religious leaders welcome the goodwill of both sides.
