Nine Armenian chess players to participate in Dubai Open Chess Championship

PanARMENIAN.Net - Nine Armenian chess players will participate in the 13th Dubai Open Chess Championship to be held from April 9 to 19, 2011.

Specifically, GMs Vladimir Akopian, Zaven Andriasian, Tigran Petrosian, Samvel Ter-Sahakyan, Artashes Minasian, Ashot Anastasian, Tigran Kotanjian, Davit Petrosian, as well as FM Karen Grigoryan will represent Armenia at the tournament, armchess.am reported.

The tournament will bring together 146 chess players from Russia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Palestine, Qatar, Iran, India, Singapore, Malaysia, China, Bangladesh, England, Egypt and Azerbaijan.

The Organizing Committee will grant total prizes of US$45,000.
