COOPERATION BETWEEN SOUTH CAUCASIAN COUNTRIES TO SAFEGUARD EURO-ATLANTIC REGION AGAINST NEW THREATS, NATO HEAD CONSIDERS

PanARMENIAN.Net - The South Caucasian countries play an exceptional role in ensuring security in the Euro-Atlantic territory. NATO secretary general George Robertson said when delivering a speech at French University of Armenia. As reported by "Mediamax" agency, the North-Atlantic Alliance head emphasized Armenia, Georgia and Azerbaijan were important NATO partners in the cause of withstanding new threats and challenges of the 21-st century. "I am not naive and I understand that much time is necessary to overcome the internal problems available in the region today," - the NATO secretary general noted. At the same time in his words, "regional cooperation is a necessary condition for effective resistance to new threats."
