Writer that mentioned Turkish politician’s Armenian origin sued in Turkey

PanARMENIAN.Net - Ankara Prosecutor’s Office brought legal action against a writer Suleyman Yesilyurt, who was accused of affronting Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Kemal Kilicdaroglu.

In his book titled Craftsman Kemal, the Son of Dersim Armenian Yemus Hanim, Yesilyurt mentioned the Armenian origin of Kilicdaroglu.

The author might be facing a prison term of 14 to 26 months.

According to the suit, by mentioning the CHP leader’s Armenian origin, the book author attempted to slander him and harm his reputation in pre-electoral period, Milliyet reports.
