Astana to host CSTO informal summit

PanARMENIAN.Net - Astana, Kazakhstan, will host an informal summit of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) on August 12.

Leaders of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan will focus on the situation in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Middle East as well as the activity of the organization and ways of its improvement.

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev is expected to brief on his coiuntry’s efforts to settle the conflict in Libya.

CSTO is a military political union formed by the CIS states on the basis of the Collective Security Treaty signed in 1992.
