MP: Individual approach to be shown to each drafteeSeptember 8, 2011 - 16:44 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Individual approach should be shown to each draftee at draft. “Army begins with draft, and we are not pleased with the situation where draftees do not receive individual approach,” Hrayr Karapetyan, Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Defense, National Security and Internal Affairs, ARF Dashnaktsutyun deputy told a press conference in Yerevan. Karapetyan emphasized that cases of drafting sick people must be excluded. He also struck the note that special approach on placement of draftees in military units must be invested, particularly considering their education. He noted that such elements are already emerging, namely regarding doctors, programmers, physicist, however such an approach must be enhanced. Here Karapetyan said that legislative amendments regulating draft and military service are being planned. He particularly noted that granting furlough to soldiers will be regulated by legislation. “It is not up to commanders subjective decision whether to grant a furlough to a soldier after 6 months,” Karapetyan noted. He also mentioned that this autumn saw the adoption of a range of statutes regulating military service in separate spheres. The General Statute on armed forces is planned to be discussed in autumn.
