Armenian Agriculture Ministry holds monitoring of farming machinerySeptember 13, 2011 - 11:43 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The Armenian Ministry of Agriculture conducts monitoring of farming machinery throughout the republic to decide on the volumes of import of new equipment. As Deputy Agriculture Minister Vardan Karapetyan told a press conference in Yerevan, most of 15 thousand tractors exploited by the local farmers do not operate properly. As to a grant project implemented by the Japanese governments, 20 out of 61 tractors were supplied to rural residents while the others were distributed in compliance with the tender announced. Karapetyan informed that the market price of a Japanese tractor is AMD 8 million, however, according to the tender terms, they were sold for AMD 4 million.
