Levon Aronian third in FIDE rankings with 2802 points

PanARMENIAN.Net - On November 1, FIDE published the list of 100 strongest chess players of the world according to which Armenian GM Levon Aronian maintains third place with 2802 points.

Magnus Carlsen (Norway) tops the standings with 2826 points, Viswanathan Anand comes the second with 2811 points.

Armenian chess players’ line-up consists of GM Sergei Movsesian (34th), Vladimir Akopian (63rd) and Gabriel Sargissian (73rd).

In women’s rankings, Elina Danielian occupies the 16 place with 2507 points, Lilit Mkrtchyan is 29th while Lilit Galoyan is 78th. China’s Hou Yifan is the leader with 2568 points.

Robert Hovhannisyan is 18th with 2586 points among juniors.
