French MEP boycotts Turkish parliamentarian speech at Baku forum

PanARMENIAN.Net - French MEP Rachida Dati left the an international forum in Baku during a speech by Turkish parliamentarian Mustafa Kabakci.

According to the Azeri-Press Agency, in his address to the conference titled “Modernization policy: new economic and social challenges” Kabakci touched upon the upcoming vote on the bill criminalizing the Armenian Genocide denial in France, saying “Let the history to historians.”

Asked to explain why she walked out, Ms. Dati provided no comment.

Today, December 22, the French parliament is to debate the bill, which envisages a year in jail and a fine of 45,000 euros for those who publicly deny the Armenian Genocide in France.
