SECOND INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OF ARMENIA OPENED IN WASHINGTON

PanARMENIAN.Net - Today "Armenia: challenges of sustainable development and economic growth" second international conference opens in the World Bank headquarters in Washington. As reported by the representation of the Armenian International Policy Research Group, within the forum framework issues of social and economic development of Armenia will be discussed by theorists and practitioners from Armenia and abroad. One of the goals of the conference is to create a scientific and practical basis for further professional promotion of young researchers from Armenia and the diaspora in the economic branches and state administration. Over 50 works of Armenian and foreign experts are submitted for participation in the conference. The main topics to be discussed include international trade, financial and fiscal policies, governance, Armenian capital markets, small enterprise development, health and social sector development, as well as Armenia-diaspora interrelations. Representatives of the US and Armenian governments, as well as those of the World Bank, International Monetary Fund, well-known scholars are expected to participate in the conference. The first conference was held in January 2003.
