Levon Aronian 2nd in FIDE rankings with 2820 points

PanARMENIAN.Net - On March 1, FIDE published the list of strongest chess players of the world according to which Armenian grandmaster Levon Aronian maintains second place with 2820 points.

Magnus Carlsen (Norway) tops the list with 2835 points; Russia’s Vladimir Kramnik comes the third with 2801 points.

In January, Armenian GM won Tata Steel Chess Tournament in Wijk aan Zee, Netherlands.

From September 24-October 13, Aronian will participate in Chess Grand Slam 2012, to be held in Bilbao, Spain.

Sergei Movsesian comes 41st with 2702 points on FIDE official rating list, Vladimir Akopian is 64th while Gabriel Sargissian is 72nd.
