U.S. Ambassador to Armenia: one should not compare Karabakh and KosovoFebruary 28, 2011 - 18:16 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - U.S. Ambassador to Armenia Marie L. Yovanovitch said that Karabakh and Kosovo conflicts differ from each other. “Any conflict is unique due to its historical peculiarities and origin. One should not compare Karabakh and Kosovo,” Yovanovitch said in Yerevan State University. According to her, the Karabakh conflict can have only a political resolution, it can be resolved only through negotiations based on compromises of the parties to the conflict. According to the Ambassador, a similar resolution of the conflict is within interests of Armenia, Karabakh and Azerbaijan. “The international community tries to bridge the parties to the conflict, so that they reach a peace resolution. The OSCE Minsk Group actively works in this direction. We strongly believe that the Karabakh conflict should have only a peace resolution,” concluded Yovanovitch.
