Azerbaijan’s only argument is threatening war, expert saysMarch 7, 2011 - 12:52 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The meeting between the Presidents of Armenia, Russia and Azerbaijan focused on measures to prevent resumption of hostilities, an expert said. “The meeting symbolized the end of the pause that emerged after the OSCE summit in Astana,” Manvel Sargsyan told journalists in Yerevan. He also noted that Azerbaijan set conditions prior to the Sochi meeting, demanding Armenia to accept the revised Madrid principles. “Azerbaijan had exact expectations from the presidential meeting. Apparently, Armenia agreed to a certain settlement scenario, however, it was not discussed in Sochi,” Sargsyan said. According to him, Azerbaijan’s only argument is threatening war. “Under the circumstances, maintenance of status quo is essential,” the expert concluded.
