WHO suggests to undertake steps to provide hospitals' security in emergency situations

At today's news conference, attended by representatives of health organizations and hospitals, World Health Organization (WHO) offered to undertake a number of steps to provide security of medical establishments in emergency situations.



WHO-suggested steps are as follows: assessment of hospital's security, scheduling of rapid response works in emergency situations, projecting and construction of durable buildings, developing national policy.



"Today, when the world is threatened by climatic changes and armed conflicts, we have to create special conditions to protect medical workers, so immediate medical assistance could be offered to those who need it," Margaret Chan, WHO Director-General emphasized in her statement.
