Historical and architectural monuments of Khosrov reserve to be restored July 14, 2011 - 14:25 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The government of Armenia approved the program of restoration of historical and architectural monuments of the Khosrov Forest state reserve on July 14 sitting. As the Minister of Culture of Armenia Hasmik Poghosyan told a briefing at the RA government press center, the duration of the program makes 15 years, however reconstruction of monuments requiring urgent restoration will be implemented within near 4-5 years. According to her, the government decision is conditioned by the fact that there are some 312 monuments in the reserve today, and the government with international structures renders special attention to creation of reserve-museums lately. Poghosyan said that within the frames of the complex program approved by the government in 2001, AMD8 mln. was allotted from the state budget to carry out monitoring of activities, the schedule of which will be ready within 6 months. Besides, the Minister noted that the government of Armenia intends to start co-funding of programs stipulating preservation and reconstruction of historical and cultural heritage. “I think the private sector’s interest will be aroused from the viewpoint of eco-tourism, active tourism with horse walks etc.,” the Minister of Culture said.
