Weigtlifting tournament kicks off in YerevanMarch 5, 2009 - 15:02 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Weigtlifting tournament dated to the 50th birthday of late Armenian Prime Minister Vazgen Sargsyan kicked off in Yerevan today. "The tournament is the initiative of Weigtlifting Federation and the National Olympic Committee. Some 130 young weighlifters in 8 weight classes are participating," Pashik Alaverdyan, President of the Armenian Weigtlifting Federation, told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter. International category referee Arsen Alaverdyan was appointed the chief referee of the tournament.
