Linares 2009 International Chess Tournament was completed

PanARMENIAN.Net - Linares 2009 International Chess Tournament was completed. Armenian grandmaster Levon Aronian, playing with white pieces, made a draw with Russian grandmaster Alexander Grischuk.



The other games of the14th tour ended in a draw, with no changes in tournament table. According to final standings, Alexander Grischuk and Ukrainian grandmaster Vassily Ivanchuk, became tournament winners with 8 points each. Aronian, with 6,5 points to his score, along with Azeri Teimour Radjabov and Chinese Wang Yue were ranked 5th to 7th. Norwegian Magnus Carlsen came 3rd with 7.5 points. World champion Viswanathan Anand took the 4th place scoring 7 points. Cuba's Leinier Dominguez came last with 6 points.



The total prize fund for Linares 2009 amounts EURO 314000, and the winner's prize fund is EURO 100 000.
