Levon Aronian II early winner of Grand Slam Final Chess Masters 2009

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian grandmaster Levon Aronian defeated Spain's Alexei Shirov in the 5th round of Grand Slam Final Chess Masters 2009 in Bilbao. Gaining 12 points, he outstripped Russia's Alexander Grischuk, who made a draw with Ukrainian grandmaster Sergey Karjakin.



In the 6th round, Aronian will play vs. Karjakin.



Standing after 5 rounds: Aronian - 12 points, Grischuk - 7 points, Karjakin - 6 points, Shirov - 2 points.
