Four Armenian karatekas to take part in European Junior Championship

PanARMENIAN.Net - Four sportsmen in different weigh classes will represent Armenia in European Contact Karate Junior Championship due in Cyprus on October 24-31. Aikikendo Federation President David Atanesyan told a PanARMENIAN.Net correspondent that Championship participants were selected based on results of Armenia's open karate championship dedicated to the 2791st anniversary of Yerevan.



"Armenia's open championship enabled us to select the best sportsmen. All four are champions of Armenia and can compete in different styles," Atanesyan said.



Thus, Armenia will be represented by the following junior sportsmen : Vanik Papoyan (w/c 35 kg., age group: 10-12), Vahram Ter-Vardanyan (w/c 48 kg., age group: 13-14), Martin Ayvazyan (60 kg., age group: 14-15), and Vahagn Ghukasyan (w/c 65 kg., age group: 15-16).
