Yerevan to host Sport Relief Mile charity event

PanARMENIAN.Net - On Sunday 2 May the British Embassy, and the British Council, in partnership with the Armenian National Paralympics Committee, will take to the streets of Yerevan as part of the Sport Relief Mile.

Over the last month thousands of people across the world have taken part in the Mile, and now Armenian people are invited to participate by joining Ambassador Charles Lonsdale in running/walking/wheel chairing a Mile to raise money for the Armenian National Paralympics Committee.

The goal is to raise 500,000 AMD for the Armenian National Paralympics Committee.

During the weekend of 19th and 21st of March Sport Relief miles were, thanks to the FCO, for the first time ever held in countries all around the world. 2,500 runners from 52 Posts took part in a stirring display of British dynamism and connectedness.

The Sport Relief Mile is an initiative of the British charity Comic Relief, which raises money to help vulnerable people worldwide.
