Smbat Margaryan wins bronze at Youth Olympics

PanARMENIAN.Net - Singapore Youth Olympic Games, launched August 14, hosted 14 Armenian sportsmen competing in 12 disciplines.

At Olympics, Armenia’s Smbat Margaryan (56kg weight category) lifted 243 kg in a clean and jerk combination to gain the third place. Vietnamese and Chinese weightlifters won gold and silver showing the result of 256 and 254 kg respectively.

On August 16, Armenian sportsman Varos Petrosyan (85kg weight category) came 5th in Greco-Roman wrestling discipline. Ruslan Odentsov of Russia won gold in the championship.

Freestyle wrestler Artak Hovhannesyan and athlete Diana Khubeseryan will be performing on August 17.
