2011 Armenian Football Championship to kick off March 1

PanARMENIAN.Net - President of the Football Federation of Armenia (FFA) Ruben Hayrapetyan, who has been elected for the third term, expressed hope that FFA headed by him will work efficiently for 4.5 years and contribute to football development.

"We will focus on the development of youth football, especially in Armenia's regions. Football schools will be constructed in Shirak and Lori regions in 2011 - 6 soccer fields in Shirak and 4 - in Lori. Two football fields are ready in Kapan, another two fields are scheduled to be opened in spring," Hayrapetyan told a press conference.

2011 Armenian Football Championship will kick off on March 1. Thus, according to Hayrapetyan, members of the national team will be able to get prepared for the match with Russia in the EURO-2012 qualification group due March 26, 2011.

"Prior to that, the national team will hold 2-3 friendly matches," he said.

Hayrapetyan also referred to problems with referees in the Armenian Football Championship. Specifically, he is displeased with actions of some referees, as a result of which several referees have been dismissed.

Hayrapetyan said that an agreement was reached with the National Federations of Spain and Italy, where Armenian referees will be trained.

Besides, Hayrapetyan negotiates with two persons, who may become coaches of the Armenian youth team. However, he refrained from naming them.
