MONITOR OPPOSITION JOURNAL EDITOR-IN-CHIEF ELMAR GUSEYNOV KILLED IN BAKUMarch 3, 2005 - 18:31 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Editor-in-Chief and founder of Monitor opposition journal Elmar Guseynov is killed in Baku. As reported by Azerbaijan law-enforcementbodies, Guseynov was killed March 2 at about 9:00 p.m. Baku time. Criminal proceedings were instituted against Guseynov several times, the journal headed by him was fined by court decisions. The Monitor - "a journal of free people" was lately being issued in four thousand copies. The main topics of its publications were studies of biographies of well-known political figures of the country, public, political and economic subjects. The Center for Geo-Economic Research was the founder of the journal. ![]() ![]() Azerbaijani authorities report that they have already resettled 3,000 people in the Nagorno-Karabakh town of Stepanakert. On June 10, Azerbaijani President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev will leave for Turkey on a working visit. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev arrived in Moscow on April 22 to hold talks with Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.
