Ann Derse: U.S. to support Azerbaijan for WTO

PanARMENIAN.Net - The U.S. will support Azerbaijan's bid to the World Trade Organization (WTO), U.S. Ambassador to Azerbaijan Ann Derse said at a meeting with Minister of Economic Development Heydar Babayev. The parties discussed the Azerbaijan-U.S. economic ties and, specifically, Azerbaijan's joining the WTO.



Mr Babayev said that Azerbaijan has fulfilled most of the obligations essential for joining the WTO.



For her part, Ambassador Derse said, "To date, the U.S. government has allocated $3 million as a technical assistance to encourage Azerbaijan for joining the WTO. The United States will keep up the line," Novosti Azerbaijan reports.
