Expert: Saakashvili gave to understand he is not West's marionette

PanARMENIAN.Net - Mikheil Saakashvili's decision on early presidential elections was a hat trick, assistant director of the Caucasus Media Institute, Sergei Minasian told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter.



"Opposition candidates lack charisma and real understanding of Georgia's future. The U.S. and EU will go on supporting Saakashvili for real policy reasons. True, the President has a big disadvantage. Closure of Imedi TV Channel belonging to Rupert Murdoch has seriously impeded the process of Georgia's integration into NATO. However, Saakashvili gave to understand that he is not such a marionette in West's hands as he is presented," Minasian said adding that Imedi will hardly be given air again.
