Azerbaijan admits death of 192 soldiers in Karabakh offensive

PanARMENIAN.Net - A total of 192 Azerbaijani troops were killed and 511 were wounded during Azerbaijan’s offensive in Nagorno-Karabakh on September 19-20, the country’s Health Ministry announced on Wednesday, The Washington Post reports.

It also said that one Azeri civilian died in the hostilities.

Opposition media outlets in Azerbaijan, however, put the death toll above 200.

Nagorno-Karabakh officials said earlier that at least 200 people on their side, including children, were killed and over 400 were wounded in the fighting.

On September 19, Azerbaijan launched a full-scale offensive against Nagorno-Karabakh, killings and injuring hundreds, including civilians. On September 20, the authorities of Nagorno-Karabakh agreed to a ceasefire on Azerbaijan’s terms, including the dissolution of the Defense Army.
