NKR NA: ICJ confirmed that people’s right to self-determination does not violate international law

PanARMENIAN.Net - Motherland, Democracy and Dashnaktsutyun NKR parliamentary groups issued a joint statement on International Court of Justice ruling on Kosovo independence. In their statement, parliamentary groups confirmed NKR people’s readiness to resolve current issues through negotiations, as stipulated by international law.

“On December 10, 1991, based on international law principles and USSR legislation, Karabakh people declared independence through referendum. Over the last 20years, NKR, having repulsed Azeri attack, achieved conclusion of armistice agreement, proving itself as a fully democratic state,” the statement emphasized.

“ICJ ruling confirmed that people’s right to self-determination does not violate principles and norms of international law, including territorial integrity principle,” the statement concluded.
