Iranian Vice President renounces statement on Armenian Genocide

PanARMENIAN.Net - Iranian Vice President Hamid Baghaei has renounced a statement on the Armenian Genocide he allegedly made during a conference last week, Zaman reported.

He refuted the statement ascribed to him by some media and demanded a disclaimer.

“A hundred years ago the Ottoman Empire committed genocide against a certain number of Armenians,” Baghaei was quoted as saying during ‘Iran, a bridge of success’ conference.

“The information spread by the media is untrue,” the Vice President said a day after Turkish Foreign Minster Ahmet Davutoglu demanded an explanation.
