Petrosian and Vladimir Poghosyan gained a win in the 6th round of the European Chess Championship underway in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. They beat Russia’s Alexander Shimanov and Vladimir Fedoseev and Belgium’s Milan Pein, respectively. Sergei Movsesian - Markus Ragger (Austria), Hrant Melkumian - Dmitry Andreikin (Russia), Gabriel Sargissian - Tomasz Banusz (Hungary) matches ended in a draw. Robert Hovhannisyan and Zaven Andriasian tied their game against Andrei Volokitin (Ukraine) and Alexei Pridorozhny (Russia) respectively. Hovhannes Gabuzyan played a draw with Nikola Sedlak (Serbia) and Arman Pashikian tied the match with Yakub Erturan (Turkey). Samvel Ter-Sahakyan was the only Armenian player who lost to Germany’s Daniel Fridman. The 7th round of the tournament is due on March 27.
