Vladimir Akopian beat Estonia’s Kaido Kulaots, Gabriel Sargissian gained victory over Davorin Kuljasevic from Serbia, Hovhannes Gabuzyan defeated Branko Damljanovic (Serbia), and Arman Pashikian won over Austrian Georg Froewis. Akopian is placed 12th with 5.5 points, only 0.5 point behind tournament leader Sergei Azarov (Belarus) who scored 6 points. Vladimir Pogosian tied the game against Claudiu-Cristian Dobre (Romania). Sergei Movsesian lost to Andrei Istratescu (France); Hrant Melkumyan was defeated by Viktor Bologan (Moldova) while Robert Hovhannisyan lost the game against Russia’s Nikita Vitiugov. Tigran L. Petrosian faced a defeat by Russia’s Artur Gabrielian. Samvel Ter-Sahakyan and Zaven Andriasian lost to Ukraine’s Alexander Areshchenko and Azerbaijan’s Vugar Rasulov respectively.
