Coach says Armenian chess players ready for Istanbul World Olympiad

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian’s chess team, headed by Arshak Petrosyan, is currently getting ready in Tsaghkadzor for Istanbul 2012 World Chess Olympiad.

“All the members actively participate in the team practice session, with trainings held twice a day,” Mr. Petrosyan told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter, adding that all the players showed good results in international tournaments this year.

“We will do the utmost to have successful performance. The event will bring together a number of strong teams, with Russia, the U.S., Azerbaijan, Ukraine, France, Israel among them,” he said.

Armenia’s line-up for Istanbul Olympiad consists of grandmasters Levon Aronian, Sergei Movsesian, Vladimir Akopian, Gabriel Sarkissian and Tigran L. Petrosian.
