Coach hails Armenia’s participation in European Boxing Championships

PanARMENIAN.Net - Chief coach of Armenian boxing team Karen Aghamalyan described Russia-hosted EUBC European Olympic Hopes 19-22 Boxing Championships 2012 as a difficult challenge.

“Armenian team was the youngest among the participants, with 20 reported as the average age. I’m happy that our squad succeeded in scoring medals,” he said.

According to the coach, Koryun Soghomonyan held quite tense bouts to finalize his performance with a gold medal.

“Koryun is a very promising boxer,” he said, hailing the athlete’s performance at the championships.

Dwelling on Aram Avagyan’s and Narek Abgaryan’s (52 kg) participation in the championships, he said, “They, too, took every effort to show good results.”

Armenia came 4th in the championships.
