Armenian President attends FIDE presidential council meeting

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian President, head of RA chess federation Serzh Sargsyan attended Tsaghkadzor –hosted FIDE presidential council meeting, with FIDE president Kirsan Ilyumzhinov present.

President Sargsyan delivered a welcome speech, hailing Armenia’s interest in chess discipline.

“Armenian chess players serve an example for future generations, with basics of the game taught at public schools,” President Sargsyan said, expressing gratitude to Mr Ilyumzhinov and council members for effective cooperation.
