Vic Darchinyan: I want a third title

PanARMENIAN.Net - Former world champion Vic Darchinyan (39-5-1, 28 KO's) made a successful return to the ring after an almost eight month absence by scoring a fourth round stoppage of Javier Gallo last Saturday, May 11 night on a bout broadcast on Unimas, boxingscene.com reported.

"Gallo was a tough fighter. He showed up to win," said Darchinyan. "I'm ready for a big fight. I want Victor Terrazas next for the WBC title."

Darchinyan showed he still packs a punch after scoring four knockdowns on the way to a knockout over the game fighter from Tijuana, Mexico.

He is currently promoted by Top Rank and managed by Frank Espinoza.

"Vic still has the killer instinct which boxing fans love," said Espinoza after the win in Laredo, Texas. "His power, attitude and world class experience makes him a risky proposition for any of the champions."

The two division world champion from Armenia has his eyes set firmly on another belt.

"I want a third title. It's very important for my career," said Darchinyan. "I'm still very hungry and being a champion in three weight classes is something that would be historic. I'll give everything I have to accomplish that goal."
