10 families benefit from VivaCell-MTS housing project in Aragatsotn

PanARMENIAN.Net - Thanks to the VivaCell-MTSFuller Center for Housing Armenia 2015 partnership, construction of 21 and renovation of 19 half-built houses has been completed in Armenia’s rural areas, with a total of 10 families benefiting from the project in Armenia’s Aragatsotn province alone.

VivaCell-MTS General Manager Ralph Yirikian and Fuller Center for Housing Armenia President Ashot Yeghiazaryan visited the border village of Getap, where the Gevorgyan family have completely renovated the roof of their house.

The Gevorgyans have lived in a house built half a century ago.

“I have always dreamed of having a decent house. Sometimes it's more difficult to repair a house than to build one. For many years, my children were raised without basic living conditions. The renovation of the roof became a stimulus for us to also renovate the bathroom and the kitchen,” said Sousanna, the family mother.

“The results of the programs implemented throughout last year are not merely numbers for us: human destinies stand behind them,” Yirikian said. “If the families have solved part of their problems, we can consider our efforts successful. Despair deprives people of strength, while we need to be strong as ever."

"Very little is needed to make a happy life. A decent house with a safe roof makes other problems easier to solve," Yeghiazaryan noted, in turn.

In 2015, VivaCell-MTS invested AMD 100 million, with the Fuller Center for Housing Armenia implementing the housing project. Launched in 2007, the program has assisted 93 families.
