VivaCell-MTS helps renovate houses in Armenia’s rural communities

PanARMENIAN.Net - Owing to the housing project financed by VivaCell-MTS, the construction of a half-built house and the renovation of another family house have been completed in late 2015.

VivaCell-MTS General Manager Ralph Yirikian and Fuller Center for Housing Armenia President Ashot Yeghiazaryan visited Mayakovsky community of Kotayk province to see the enhanced housing conditions of the two families and share their happiness.

For 13 years, 11 members of Artur Antonyan’s family have been living in his parents’ house. The home of a neighbor, who left the country for an overseas job, has served the family as a shelter throughout five years. The Antonyans started the construction of their house several years ago, but were unable to complete it.

“My children grew up moving from one house to another. Nothing can be compared with the feeling of having your own home. Our happiness and gratitude is endless,” said the mother of the family, Naira Antonyan.

“It is a major achievement to see people in despair and uncertainty cheered by positive attitude,” Yirikian said. “The more kindness we give away to families like these, the more committed they get in terms of building their homes, raising their children decently, and being useful to the country.”

“As a result of the partnership with VivaCell-MTS, the housing problem of 93 families has been solved, paving the way for new opportunities,” Yeghiazaryan said, in turn.

Since 2007, VivaCell-MTS has contributed AMD 228.3 million for the basic reconstruction or renovation of houses thus improving the life quality of 480 people with social needs in 31 villages of Armenia’s 10 provinces.
