Henrikh Mkhitaryan to have big impact at Manchester United: Gundogan

PanARMENIAN.Net - A big Manchester United future is being predicted for imminent Reds capture Henrikh Mkhitaryan by a former team mate who is set to be a very close rival, the Manchester Evening News reports.

United hope to land Armenian midfielder Mkhitaryan by the end of this week having agreed a fee with Borussia Dortmund.

Last season the 27-year-old shared the dressing room at the German club with Ilkay Gundogan who made his move to Manchester last month to join City.

Mkhitaryan moved to the Westfalenstadion in 2013 from Shakhtar Donetsk where the Blues signing had already been for two years.

Gundogan has warned that it took his former Dortmund engine room sidekick a while to settle in the Bundesliga.

“He (Henrikh) has been at Dortmund for three years. The first two years were not so easy for him, to be honest,” said Gundogan.

“He’s a player who needs self-confidence, who needs to play every time and prove himself to get better and better. At this time, we were not so successful, so it was not easy for him to adapt. He had a few problems.

“But when you see how he played last year, it was really incredible. Maybe he was the most important player for us last year. If he can go on like this, he will have a big, big impact for Manchester United, and a big plus. I wish him the best, and to stay healthy.”
