Armenian boxer Hovhannes Bachkov qualifies for Rio Olympics

PanARMENIAN.Net - Hovhannes Bachkov (64kg) from Armenia defeated Volodymyr Matviychuk from Ukraine at the APB/WSB Olympic Qualification Tournament in Venezuela to reach the finals and win an Olympic berth.

In the quarterfinals, Bachkov beat Peter Raymond Moilete who represented Ireland.

Armenia’s boxing team thus has 5 athletes to participate in the Rio Games, with 30 sportsmen having so far qualified for the Olympics overall.
