Azerbaijan may extend presidential term to seven years

PanARMENIAN.Net - A proposal was made to extend presidential term in Azerbaijan, local media report.

The proposal is part of a draft Referendum Act envisaging amendments to the Constitution of the country.

According to the draft, the term of office of the Azeri President may be extended to seven years instead of the current five.

President Ilham Aliyev has already signed a decree on submitting the draft to the Constitutional Court.
