Yerevan police detains 27 supporters of Sasna Tsrer armed group

PanARMENIAN.Net - On August 4, after the demonstration at Yerevan's Freedom Square in support of members of Sasna Tsrer group, the police detained 27 people.

Press service of the police informed Panorama.am that a record has been prepared with regard to Article 180.1 of the RA Code of Administrative Violations to terminate the public event over failure to implement the requirements set by the Law on Conducting Meetings, Assemblies, Rallies and Demonstrations in due time.

Having filed the record on administrative violations, the detained were released.

Failure to implement in a timely manner the decision to terminate public events in cases stipulated for by the RA Law on Conducting Meetings, Assemblies, Rallies and Demonstrations is punished with a fine in the amount of 50-100 times the minimal salary.

Some citizens claimed that they’d been taken to police stations without even being involved in the demonstration.
